@lattera BTW, why is #HardenedBSD based on #FreeBSD? I'd love to hear the story if you find some spare time.

@mpts I absolutely love the many features #FreeBSD provides. Jails, DTrace, ZFS, etc. However, it lacks all exploit mitigations outside of a stack cookie. #HardenedBSD was born to implement robust security (by porting grsecurity) in FreeBSD.

We originally intended to upstream our work, but have now decided that it's not worth our time to fight unneeded politics. Instead, we'd rather focus on catching up with the rest of the world as FreeBSD is far behind.
