Okay, so #pandas offers two serialization formats that properly preserve type information while also not breaking stored objects when pandas code changes too much: feather and parquet, both part of apache arrow – for which there's no #FreeBSD port.

The problem being that I actually got the thing compiled from git and now I'm reading the FreeBSD Porter's Handbook and oh Goddess, what am I doing? /o\
